Join Women Lawyers for their Annual Ethics update hosted each year in December

Attorney ethical standards have more or less remained the same for decades, but the ever changing ways in which attorneys interact with their clients continues to create new ethical challenges.  Join us for a lively discussion of recent state and federal cases in which the outcome was affected by an ethical issue or dilemma.

Speaker: Shannon Bio 
Shannon is an Associate with Toews & Murphy.  Shannon's primary areas of practice include estate planning and estate administration.  Previously, Shannon was an Associate with the Frederick Law Firm handling a variety of civil and criminal matters.  Shannon is a native of San Luis Obispo County, previous recipient of a WLA Scholarship Award and current Chair of the WLA Membership Committee.  

Speaker: Ellen Drews
Ellen is an Associate with Sinsheimer Juhnke McIvor & Stroh, practicing in the areas of civil litigation, trusts and estate litigation and employment law.  Ellen began her career in the trial department of a large firm in Los Angeles later returning to her hometown of San Luis Obispo.  

Speaker: Sheryl Wolcott 
Sheryl is a Chief Deputy District Attorney at the San Luis Obispo District Attorney's Office.  Sheryl has been a criminal prosecutor for eighteen years, first serving San Mateo County, where she spent several years focusing on domestic violence cases.  In 2007, she joined the San Luis Obispo District Attorney's Office currently managing the misdemeanor, juvenile, and environmental consumer protection division, while overseeing office automation, support staff and paralegals.
