Women's History Month and Elimination of Bias
Outstanding Woman Lawyer Award ("OWL") Presentation

March 6, 2013 - 12:00 Noon at the Madonna Inn, Round Room

The SLO WLA invites you to come celebrate Women's History Month at our March 6th meeting where we will honor long-time WLA member and community icon, ANGIE KING, with our first Outstanding Woman Lawyer Award!

Not only will we have the opportunity to celebrate ANGIE's selection as the embodiment of WLA's mission, we will introduce you to a panel discussion of elimination of bias in the legal field. The three outstanding lawyers that make up our panel will discuss how it was, what it is like now, and our vision for the future of women in the legal field.

  • JoAnn Glidden, an L.A. Deputy D.A. from 1977-2003 who filed a gender discrimination action against a former L.A. District Attorney's office in 1983, will give a look at where we've been,
  • Beth Marino, former associate at Keesal, Young & Logan and former partner of Andre, Morris & Buttery, now in-house counsel to Santa Maria Energy will provide us with insight into the modern woman lawyer with a variety of experiences; and
  • Andrea Visveshwara, Assistant City Attorney, will provide a look at what we can do to make a better future.

This program offers 1-hour credit of elimination of bias MCLE credit. We are expecting a large turn out for this great program, so please make your reservation early.

Reserve by this Friday, March 1.
