Message from Our 2019 WLA President - Kara Stein-Conaway

When we were founded in 1981, the legal profession in San Luis Obispo, statewide and throughout the United States presented a very different landscape for women. Much of our extraordinary progress during the past 38 years is due to organizations like the WLA, that are dedicated to the advancement of women in our community and the industry at large.

I am honored to be the 2019 WLA President. My intention for WLA this year is that each of us does more of what makes us come alive, sets our hearts on fire, and brings us joy. By doing so, we will live our best lives, simultaneously expanding and strengthening the contribution we make to our local community and to the world.

I invite you to ask yourself:

What makes you come alive?

What sets your heart on fire?

What brings you joy?

What do you plan to do with this one wild and precious life? (poet Mary Oliver)

The possibilities are endless!

With deep gratitude and excitement,

Kara Stein-Conaway
