March 1, 2023 MCLE: So your parents named you as a trustee because you work in the legal field. What now?

Join attorney Skye Christakos as she helps you understand what your responsibilities are now that everyone you know has named you as their fiduciary, just because you work in the legal field. Skye will discuss your legal obligations, best practices, and other helpful information for helping your family members and friends deal with their estate plan, both before and after their passing.
We will also be recognizing our recent past WLA presidents Kara Stein-Conaway (2019), Meghann Triplett (2020), Erin DeNatale (2021), and Maren Hufton (2022) at our April MCLE. We hope you will join us in honoring their dedication to our organization.

OUR SPEAKER:
Skye Christakos
Skye Christakos specializes in estate planning, trust and probate law, with emphasis on tax planning and administration of estates. Her practice includes preparation of revocable and irrevocable trusts, planning and preparation of federal estate and gift tax returns, charitable planning, and the utilization of corporations, partnerships, and other entities as they relate to estate and tax planning.
Skye was born and raised in San Luis Obispo. She left after high school to live in Oregon and North Carolina, but returned home in 2011. She lives with her husband, young kids, and menagerie of pets and writes novels in her spare time.
And yes, everyone she knows has named her as their trustee.

Lunches will be provided by Lincoln Deli. Vegetarian options will be available.
All proceeds will go toward the WLA scholarship fund and the other worthy events hosted by the WLA.
